Today we all read stories independently and wrote down words we couldn't figure out on sticky notes.  We will learn new ways to figure out unknown words.

Click here to find lots of stories to read!Back to I'm Reading

Whenever we read a story we focus on identifying: genre, plot, setting, characters, main idea and detail.

Writing and Grammar

This week we are working on a first grade memory book.

We learned how to CHECK 5: punctuation, spacing, capitals, spelling, and neatness.  These are the 5 things we are always looking for when we finish writing.

Spelling and Phonics

This week we are reviewing all the vowel sounds we have learned.

Science

This week we will begin learning about plants. We are germinating lima bean seeds on our windows.  We hope they start growing before school ends.

Social Studies

This week we will learn about more inventors and how inventions have changed over time.
