Holiday Shoppe 2010
Please join us at our Annual Holiday Shoppe on the
29th of November to the 3rd of December
The Holiday Shoppe is a store, set up in your school and run by parent volunteers. For many children, Holiday Shoppe is the first time they will experience the thrill of selecting their own gifts for family and friends. In a safe and supportive in-school 'store,' children buy gifts with the help of our parent volunteers. You can also turn it into another opportunity to teach them budgeting and some basic finance.
Items in the shop range in price from approximately $2 to $12.
You will be sent home a form allowing you to 'guide' your children's purchases (i.e., identify for whom they should purchase gifts - e.g., mom, dad, sister, grandmother - and a price range for each individual).
This form doubles as an envelope and, on the day of your child's visit, you can return the form and necessary funds. Any change will be sent home via this envelope as well.
Your child will be thrilled to surprise family and friends with the gifts they have chosen on their own!
WHAT YOU CAN DO: You will be receiving a volunteer sign up sheet via your children's travel folders. Volunteers will be needed to help unpack and price items, to help students find and purchase gifts during shop hours, to straighten up between class visits, and to pack up. The volunteer sign up sheet will list the times when each class is scheduled to attend the fair.
